Happy Thursday - this is a long one but first, the tea:
Back in April of this year I interviewed a Women’s USA Soccer Player on her investment with a company, shopped the article around, crickets…the PR firm that asked me to do this would check in periodically, you know doing our job, to see what the status was and unfortunately, I didn’t have any updates. So fast forward, as the firm had been very persistent in getting this interview out, they gave it to another journalist to publish. Yes, you read that correctly; gave my story to another journalist to publish. When I found this out (like seconds after it went live) I lost my shit. First, I contacted the firm and threw out all professionalism and just spoke my mind like a drunk college girl at a bar who’s boyfriend just broke up with her and then, finally, the journalist contacted me explaining that the PR firm told her my article was from the client and not another journalist (y’all I can’t make this stuff up) the journalist explained to me what happened and based off her timeline and whom she was in touch with, everything added up and she immediately took down the article. So moral of story: don’t be that firm. And no, I am not mad at the journalist, in fact we shared a virtual non-alcoholic mimosa afterwards.
Fun Amazon Growth Review Tip:
So, you know how many of us have been gifting/hiring influencers product in exchange for social media content right? But let’s face it, we need more than just pretty pictures and followers, at the end of the day, our clients need sales. This method is what I’ve been implementing with my clients who are on Amazon but need to ramp up their reviews and check outs, hear me out:
1. Purchase the product from Amazon and send directly to the influencer.
2. Once the influencer has the product, instruct them to do a five-star review on Amazon + uploading images and video for Amazon review; not social media.
I know this is a non-traditional avenue but it works.

Past Honorees include:
