and that’s just the start of it.
Seven, yes seven transactions back to back with such purchases. I am so glad my bank caught this quick enough to not approve nearly half the merchants; still waiting on another chunk to be reimbursed. I had a full blown panic attack at the bank, chills, boob sweat and all but I’m OK. If you had card fraud or any fraud happen to you before, you know the feels. If you haven’t, I really hope you never have to go through it; the bank gave me some pretty “duh” tips that I thought I’d share :
Never keep more than $500 on your debit card daily, only transfer what you need when making larger purchases.
Keep your money in a savings account.
Turn on Card Alerts via Cell & Email.
Check your account every morning.
I asked the bank, how the actual f*** they said the way the transactions happened it was most likely done through someone hacking into a system like at a restaurant or smaller businesses that more prone to hacks, well shit.
